Wellness - #CTRunplugs

“Be Still and Know that I am God” Psalm 46

Start with ‘Why’

At Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools we value you! Wellness can be about eating healthy and going to the gym, but it is about improving your life - emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually and even, digitally. Wellness is about creating a balance between your work life and your family life across every school community and within each classroom. At CTR Catholic, we have made a commitment to the health and wellbeing of our teachers, staff and students. We consider staff at CTR our family and we are committed to helping each employee be the best they can be, both at work and at home. At times, we all feel overwhelmed and struggle with keeping up with tasks. Many of us often work late or in the early morning hours to keep up with performance expectations, whether they are real or contrived.

We are with you. This is a journey we are on together and together we can help find balance and improve wellness. To do so, CTR Catholic is encouraging all staff to unplug! #CTRunplugs is a wellness initiative that we hope will promote a healthier you! Your wellness is important to us. Research says that those who are always ‘plugged’ into their work, always responding to emails/text, have more anxiety. This can impact performance, health and family life.

#CTRunplugs encourages you to take time to disconnect from work at the end of the day and spend time with family and friends. We want you to foster face-to-face relationships and spend time unplugged from your job. We want you to know it is okay to turn off your computer and put away your phone, in fact, we encourage it. We want you to create routines, be productive during the day and then unplug. We do not expect our staff to respond to email 24/7. We all deserve time to unplug, to reflect, to refocus and to reengage with those we love. Only then will you be able to return to your work with intention, passion and commitment.

How will you be intentional about unplugging?
