Purpose and Vision
Curated, Art Collective
“For you are God’s masterpiece.” Ephesians 2:10 "He made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 “God put it in my heart to make this.” Nen 2.12; 7.5 “The Christian in the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.” -- Francis A. Schaeffer, Art & the Bible Purpose: As a part of human history, art has been used to express how we feel, document historical events, capture creativity and evoke emotion. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. It can take the form of musical expression, sculptural design, painting, drawing, visual arts and many others. Art can also improve wellness. From finger-painting to detailed landscapes, art can provoke spiritual, emotional and physical wellness as well as enhance brain development. At Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools, we want to celebrate the emerging and blossoming talents of our students and teachers and cultivate their imaginations and wellness. Vision: Curated. CTR Art Collective will highlight the talent, skill and creativity of our CTR students and teachers across all of our communities and in all of our schools from kindergarten to Grade 12. Each of our 17 schools will choose art pieces that will come to division office to be a part of the Collective. Winners will be chosen by a Curated. CTR Art Collective Selection Committee and be on display at division office for one year. The art will be highlighted at an annual Curated. CTR Art Collective showcase and gallery. Students and their families as well as trustees, principals and other dignitaries will be invited to the showcase to view the art and celebrate its importance not only to our schools but to our division as a whole. The event will serve as a powerful and living reminder of the children in our schools at board office.
