Tablets & Doorposts

Teachers are invited to submit student writing to be included in the 7th annual Tablets and Doorpost Anthology. This collection of student and teacher writing celebrates the amazing authors across CTR.

The Top 20 authors will be selected for special recognition and invited to attend Doorpost Café: A Curated Collection of Artists and Authors, an evening celebrating both writing and visual art. This combined event with the Curated. Art Collective will take place on Wednesday, May 20 at 5:30 pm at the Catholic Education Centre in Okotoks. This is a very special evening for students and their parents as we celebrate and honour the creative arts in CTR.

 Details about Tablets and Doorposts – A Jamboree of Writing: 

  • Each teacher may submit up to 3 pieces of student’s best writing. 
  • Teachers are also encouraged to submit a personal piece.
  • All genres of writing are welcome: poetry, narrative, memoir, essay/non-fiction, etc.
  • We are looking for writing from K-12, including submissions in French and those from our English Language Learner population.  Please indicate if a submission is from an ELL student.

  • Submission Deadline: All submissions must be received by Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Late entries will not be accepted. 

All students will receive a copy of the Anthology and excerpts of the winning pieces will be displayed in the Curated. Art Collective and Tablets & Doorposts Gallery at the Catholic Education Centre in Okotoks.
